Day 89 of the Women’s Bible Plan: Read Revelation 19:6-10 and reflect on the Bride, the Lamb’s wife. Through the glorious vision of the marriage supper of the Lamb, this devotional invites women to look toward the final union of Christ and His Church, the fine linen bright and clean, and the eternal joy God has prepared for His people.
The Bible contains many stories of women: Eve, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Mary, Martha, Mary Magdalene, and many others. Their lives reveal faith, weakness, courage, obedience, waiting, and love in many different circumstances.
But in Revelation Chapter 19, we see a greater image of womanhood: the Bride, the Lamb’s wife.
This does not refer to one individual woman, but to the Church that belongs to Christ—God’s people throughout the ages, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, cleansed by grace, and prepared to meet the Lord. Scripture uses the image of a bride to describe the most intimate, holy, and glorious relationship between Christ and His Church. She is no longer a wanderer, no longer alone, and no longer defined by sin and shame. She is invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb, clothed in fine linen, clean and white, and brought to the One who loved her, redeemed her, and receives her as His own.
Revelation 19:6-10 lifts our eyes to heavenly worship and the marriage supper of the Lamb. John hears a voice like a great multitude, like many waters, and like mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” This is the worship of victory and the declaration that God reigns in His eternal kingdom.
Then the passage calls God’s people to rejoice and give honor to Him, because “the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” This picture is deeply precious. The Lamb is Christ, who was slain for sinners and now reigns in victory. The Bride is His Church, the people redeemed, cleansed, prepared, and finally brought to Him.
The Bride is clothed in “fine linen, clean and white,” and the text explains that the fine linen is “the righteousness of saints.” This does not mean that we earn salvation by our own works. Rather, it shows that those who have received grace are renewed by Christ and bear the fruit that belongs to grace. The Church as the Bride does not stand before the Lamb in her own beauty. She is cleansed by His redemption and prepared by the work of the Holy Spirit.
This passage fits beautifully within the theme of “Women in the Bible” because it brings the stories of individual women to a greater ending. Every sister who belongs to the Lord is not only a woman in a certain family, occupation, age, identity, or season of life. In Christ, we are also part of this Bride. Our waiting, tears, faithfulness, struggles, repentance, worship, and hope are not directionless. In the end, the Church will be fully united with Christ and welcomed into the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Today’s theme, “The Bride: The Lamb’s Wife,” invites us to reflect: How are we preparing ourselves to meet the Lord? Are we so busy with the needs of this life that we forget the eternal wedding feast? When the world measures a woman’s worth by appearance, achievement, relationships, or possessions, Revelation lifts our eyes higher. True glory is to belong to Christ, to be cleansed by Him, to be prepared for Him, and to share eternal joy with Him.
1 The passage says, “the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” What does it mean to be “ready”? In your daily life, thoughts, relationships, choices, and service, where do you need the Lord to continue cleansing, renewing, and ordering your heart?
2 The Bride is clothed in “fine linen, clean and white,” which is described as “the righteousness of saints.” Do you sometimes keep faith only at the level of knowledge, emotion, or church gatherings, while neglecting to live out righteousness in daily life? Is God reminding you today to show the life of Christ in a specific relationship, word, attitude, or decision?
3 The marriage supper of the Lamb reminds us that the Church is not ultimately moving toward failure, loneliness, or brokenness, but toward complete union with Christ in glory. Are you losing hope because of the confusion of the world, the weakness of the Church, or your own weariness? How does this passage help you lift your eyes again to God’s final victory?
As you read Revelation 19:6-10 today, do not see this passage only as a future vision far away. Let it shine light on your life today: To whom do you belong? For whom are you living? Do you remember that Christ is preparing His Bride, and that we are invited even now to live with holiness, faithfulness, and hope?
Take a quiet breath before you begin. Bring your busyness, weariness, spiritual dullness, forgetfulness of eternity, and hope for the Lord’s return before God, and let His Word meet you there.
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
— Revelation 19:7
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
✨ Thank you for walking through today’s Scripture with us, dear sister.
Revelation 19:6-10 shows us heavenly worship, the reign of Almighty God, and the glorious hope of the marriage supper of the Lamb. The Church is pictured as the Bride, redeemed and cleansed by the Lamb, and called to make herself ready to meet the Lord. Now, let us bring our lives, the Church, our waiting, and our eternal hope before God in prayer.

Asking the Lord to Cleanse Me as Part of His Bride
Lord, the passage says that the Bride made herself ready and was granted to be clothed in fine linen, clean and white. Please shine Your light on the places in my life that are not yet ready: hidden pride, cold love, delayed obedience, unresolved bitterness, sins I easily compromise with, and outward religious habits while my heart is far from You.
Cleanse me with Your Word and renew me by Your Spirit. Do not let me be moved only in worship gatherings while still living according to the old self in daily life. Do not let me hope for the future wedding feast while ignoring the holiness and faithfulness You call me to today. In my words, relationships, money, time, service, and thoughts, make me more and more like someone who belongs to Christ. Lord, help me prepare my heart day by day as I wait to meet You. Amen.

Holding Hope for the Church in Her Weakness
Father, the Bride is not only me as an individual, but also the Church that belongs to Christ. Lord, when I see weakness, conflict, weariness, spiritual coldness, or even failure in the Church, I confess that I sometimes become discouraged. But Revelation reminds me that You have not abandoned Your Church. Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her, and He will prepare His Bride until she belongs to Him in glory.
Help me not to look at the Church’s weakness with cold distance, and not to withdraw from the Body because of disappointment. Teach me to watch over the Church in prayer, support the members of the Body with love, and take part in building up the Church with humility. Cleanse Your Church, Lord. Turn her away from worldliness, division, coldness, and compromise. Bring her back to Christ as the center, and let her live in holiness, love, and truth. May we be prepared together as we wait for the day of the marriage supper of the Lamb. Amen.
🧑🧑🧒🧒
Father, I also pray for the sisters around me. Many women are busy every day with family, work, caregiving, service, and many responsibilities. They are often so tired that they forget their eternal identity: we are part of the Bride of Christ, loved by the Lamb, redeemed by the Lamb, and cleansed by the Lamb.
Lord, restore their hope in eternity. If any sister feels inferior because of appearance, age, marriage, achievement, children, finances, or the opinions of others, remind her through the gospel that true worth is not given by the world, but purchased by Christ’s blood. If any sister has grown weary in faith, rekindle her love for the Lord. Help us remind one another not only to face the struggles of this life together, but also to look together toward the coming wedding feast. Amen.

Praying for the World to Hear the Invitation of the Lamb
Compassionate God, I also pray for this world. It is filled with war, poverty, injustice, temptation, confusion, and brokenness. Human hearts keep chasing temporary satisfaction and often forget eternity. Many people do not know Christ as the Lamb, and they do not know that He has given His life for sinners and invites people into the feast of His kingdom.
Lord, let the gospel go out to all nations. May more people hear the salvation of the Lamb, receive Your invitation, and turn to Christ. Cleanse and revive churches around the world, so that the Church will not lose her witness in a dark generation, but shine like a lamp before the world. May Your people remain faithful in waiting, patient in suffering, holy in temptation, and bold in proclaiming Christ with hope until the day of the marriage supper of the Lamb comes. Amen.
After reading Revelation 19:6-10, we see a glorious destination: the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. This is the final hope of the Church and the destination of every person who belongs to Christ. We are not living without direction, and we are not meant to spend our lives only circling around the pressures, responsibilities, and tears of this present age. We are moving toward a wedding feast prepared by God Himself.
As we close this page and return to real life, we still have work to do, families to care for, pressures to face, relationships to handle, temptations to resist, and an imperfect world in which to wait. But remember this: you are not merely a person carried along by daily responsibilities. You are part of the Bride of Christ, loved, redeemed, and cleansed by the Lamb. Your holiness, faithfulness, endurance, and hope are all connected to the glory that is coming.
May today’s Scripture remind you not to forget the destination and not to despise today’s preparation. May you remember eternity in the middle of busyness, look to the Lamb in weakness, and live out your identity as one who belongs to Christ in every ordinary choice. Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
